Remember that feeling when you set extremely high expectation for something based on looks and by some miracle it beats those expectations? The Line Sakana is that thing. It’s absolutely incredible to find a ski that is just at home on piste as it is in deep snow. With a unique, purpose driven design, the Sakana is one of the most noticeably unique skis on the market. It’s 105mm waist coupled with a 15m turn radius are the hardline stats, but what really excites us is the full length camber that goes all the way to a swallowtail. The key feature of the swallowtail is a longer effective edge that original designer Eric Pollard sure does miss these days! We couldn’t be more stoked to tell the world that Line skis are here at Cripple Creek Backcountry for the first time. It’s time to have fun in the BC and the Vision 108 is your best friend no matter what the conditions have in store.
Line uses 5 different radiuses into the sidecut to give the driver a variety of turn shapes at different speeds. With a core made of Paulownia and Maple, you’re guaranteed to pop at every bump and pillow and flow from turn to turn on firm snow. Included in the construction are carbon stringers offset by flax taping that gives the ski added stiffness without the traditional carbon feel freeriders aren’t a fan of. There’s a reason this game changing design won Powder Magazine’s Ski of the Year in 2019- everyone loves it, and you will too!
Remember- the design dictates shorter lengths, so rest assured that the longest available length (181cm) still works great for skiers who are used to riding something longer.
- Swallowtail design for maximum flotation, weight reduction, and style points.
- Beefy carbon reinforced core with Flax Taping creates dampness and stability without the critical feel and deflection of carbon alone.
- Early Rise Shovels keep the ski planing easily in deep powder.
- Versatility is ensured by a multi-radius sidecut, blending five different shapes for long and short-radius arcs.
- A classic directional flex pattern keeps turn initiation easy and turn exit powerful.
