The Kastle TX 93 alpine touring ski sits right at the intersection of hard work and gratuitous play. Equally at home on firm committing ski mountaineering routes as it is floating through blower powder deep in the backcountry. This is the Kastle we want with us on ski expeditions that will encounter every type of snow conditions known to man. This lightweight ski is an asset on long arduous ascents with a profile that laughs off challenging conditions with ease.
With a sweet spot 93cm waist, this feathery 1395 gram (@181cm length) backcountry ski has a generous sized shovel that overachieves in deep snows. The “hook free” tip and tail have their contact points moved further towards the center of the ski, which promotes a more maneuverable, reactive and playful backcountry profile. This enables you to spin and snap turns quickly when needed.
The solid Paulownia and Poplar wood core is wound with carbon-fiberglass, making the ski damp, stiff and stable. The semi-capped sandwich sidewall construction adds durability and torsional rigidity to a backcountry achiever that is at home on unyielding surfaces.
Kastle has made its signature Hollowtech 3.0 tip 13% larger. The bright blue “eye” reduces swing weight, eliminates tip chatter, dampens the ski at speed and literally glows in the dark, greatly adding to your alpine start and evening uphill experiences.
Grab the Kastle TX 93, put the hard work in, get to the top of that big peak and then laugh and play all the way to the car no matter the conditions.
