The Prime Straightline offers new air form straps, easier camover action for transitions and new Flip Speed Risers.Â
When you’ve got the muscle to drop backcountry lines at max speeds, keeping the binding stiff as can be is more important than saving weight. Karakoram’s Prime Straightline Splitboard Binding stiffens up the Prime1 with a carbon fiber high-back and their stiffest heel cup, making for a responsive ride, efficient touring and fast transitions. In walk mode, the binding moves back 8 degrees past vertical for long strides; the sleeved axles create a stiff, smooth pivot; the flip-speed risers adjust to two climbing heights with your pole basket; and offset cradles help to keep snow clear on entry. Switching to ride mode is fast; with no removable parts, there’s nothing to drop and lose in the snow. In ride mode, the open binding chassis flexes with the board, the bindings allow set-and-forget forward lean up to 22 degrees, and the four attachment points lock both sides of your board together. Other features: Stance angles between 30 and -30 degrees, 0.5 inch stance adjustments, CNC machined parts, on-the-fly heel lockdown.
