Leveraging the same Titanal Hex Beam construction, Steadfast base, and Uni-Directional Flax as its wider teammates, the K2 Dispatch 101 Alpine Touring Ski is built for play. This ski is lightweight yet stable with the predictability and control required for successful backcountry missions. Look no further than the Dispatch 101.
The K2 Dispatch 101 is the younger but more versatile brother to the Dispatch 110. Consider this all mountain stalwart to be one of the top all mountain touring skis on the market today. Sure, the artwork is fantastic, but the guts of the Dispatch 101 feature a Paulownia wood core and K2’s brand new Hex Beam construction. Hex is a rethinking of where and when to put metal in a touring ski. By moving titanal slightly away from the core (both forwards and backwards), The Dispatch 101 gains a tremendous amount of dampness and stability on firm snow or going fast. Speaking of fast, the Steadfast base soaks up wax and holds it up to 8 times longer than a traditional sintered base, which can’t be understated- wax your skis less, and leave those skis outside all winter! (Just kidding about leaving them outside). 101mm underfoot with rocker is a great waist width and profile to tour everywhere, and K2 seems to have nailed it with this new 2023 ski. For those who want a fun, hard charging ski that will excel in huge range of conditions, the K2 Dispatch 101 Alpine Touring Ski is an awesome option!
