New for 2022 is the Mentis Freebird from Black Crows. It is the lightest ski in the Freebird lineup (Sub 1000g). The Mentis is definitely more of a fitness-focused ski but with a less aggressive sidecut and a wider waist than its predecessor. This is going to be a fun ski to rip laps with.
The Mentis is playful in nature but it sports a longer turning radius for its class (19m). With a unique blunt spoon nose and slightly more rocker than the Vastus, these skis will be able to handle a wider range of conditions. And just like the other Freebird skis, it has a Paulownia core, a layer of carbon mixed fiberglass weave, and a titanal mounting plate underfoot to keep it torsionally rigid. Think skinny powder ski with a twist.
- Train with style with this lightweight touring ski
- Paulownia Wood core with mixed fiberglass and carbon and titanal binding reinforcement
- Front rocker and long, classic camber
- 80mm underfoot gives sufficient stability and agility
