The new Backland line of boots was developed by Atomic to combine the benefits of lightweight touring boots with the power of bigger and heavier boots. Committed BC skiers rejoiced when these boots came out because they deliver on their promise of exceptional lightweight and tremendous power because of the tall cuff and backbone feature. Atomic calls it the Energy Backbone, which is a reinforced section of both the lower shell and the cuff that provides lateral and forward support. The Backland Sport fits into the line as the lower cost, even-flexing PU version perfect for advanced skiers that expect performance from a boot, but are just starting to tour. The last is on the narrow side, but the shell can be punched up to 6mm for a custom fit. The pre-shaped 3D Gold liner has an anatomical heel pocket and is fully heat moldable to further customize the comfort of this high performance entry-level boot.
